Actually, Roberts never said that. But imagine the howls from the left if he had. Obama's supreme court nominee, Sonia Sotomayer, did make a similar racist quote...

This nominee is a classic case of the superficial over substance. She was nominated because she is female and a minority, not because she is a good judge. And for the same reason, anyone opposing her will be labelled a racist and a sexist.
Expect this nomination to sail through without a problem.
