Islam Is as Islam Does

I just ran across another article by a bleeding-heart liberal who described the Fort Hood terrorist as a "lone nut" who had difficulty adjusting to military life. His actions, of course, had nothing to do with the co-incidental fact that his religion was Islam. Islam is, according this this article and an increasingly loud majority of liberals, an inherently peaceful religion and we have nothing to fear from it.

As far as I'm concerned, Islam is as Islam does. Apart from the Islamic Terrorist Traitor Major, over 14,000 other acts of terrorism have been committed in the name of this "peaceful religion" since 9/11 with countless thousands of deaths and injuries as a result.

There is no radical Islam. There is no Fundamentalist Islam. There is no Terrorist Islam. There is just Islam, and those who misunderstand the religion are the so-called "peaceful" Muslims who may not overtly support terrorism, but who covertly support it by nurturing, protecting and covering up the more active brothers and sisters amongst them.

Our leaders continually hammer away at the idea that America is not at war with Islam. While that is true, perhaps we should be, and we should make it official. It may be the only way we will all be safe.

Islam is a belief based on hate and grievance and likes to portray itself as a victim while itself victimizing others and victimizing even its own. Kind of like liberalism.

Terrorism or Simply Murder?

Anyone remember when abortion doctor George Tiller was murdered? It hasn't been that long ago. Everyone, particular the left, was quick to call the murder a "terrorist act." It wasn't, really.

The difference between Tiller's murder and terrorism? Terrorism seeks to terrorize other people by randomly killing as many innocent victims as possible. Murder, generally speaking, targets a specific individual for a specific reason.

Granted, some murders are seemingly "random." By their nature, someone who robs a store and shoots the witnesses is committing what most of us would describe as a random act of violence. Someone dies because they are in the wrong place at the wrong time. But even in this case, the killer is killing specific people (witnesses) for a specific purpose (to not identify him).

In the Tiller case, the murder targeted Tiller, not random victims for a specific reason... he killed babies and was going to continue to get away with it because of the sham show-trial put on by the State of Kansas and HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.

Fast forward to last week.

A muslim extremist in the military goes on a shooting rampage killing as many soldiers as he can in a small space. A few of these people are people he knows, but many are not. He shoots as many as 100 rounds killing and wounding some forty people.

The left and the Teleprompter-in-Chief are quick to say this may not be terrorism.

? ? ?

How is this NOT terrorism? Can anyone explain that to me?

Yes, Hasan may have had mental issues. Do we think that all of the suicide bombers from the middle east are well adjusted citizens? Yes, he was under some stress? Aren't we all?

The fact is, Hasan disagreed with the United States and its policies (even under the Peaceful Kenyan Muslim in the White House) and planned to take out and "terrorize" as many soldiers as he could.

Now, of course, one could argue that he did, in fact, target specific people. Soldiers. So that they wouldn't go over and kill his "Muslim Brothers." While that may or may not be the case, this is different than my previous example. The robber in the store kills witnesses so that they won't identify him. Hasan isn't going to change U.S. policy or prevent the deaths of a single "Muslim Brother" by killing U.S. soldiers. He's merely trying to terrorize the U.S. military.

Why is this important? For a couple of reasons. First, last week, we witnessed the worst terrorist act on U.S. soil since 9-11. We can't even get the administration and the media to admit it was a terrorist act. They are trying to justify it. "He was crazy; He was under stress; He was blah, blah, blah." The left wants to deny that there are Muslim Extremists Terrorist on U.S. soil this very minute. Doing so places us all in extreme danger.

Second, we need to get rid of this political correctness movement surrounding Islam. Our government (even under Bush) and the media continue to try to portray Islam as some peaceful love-fest singing Kum-By-Yah around a campfire while handing out flowers and embracing the world, but containing a small rag-tag group of fringe members that are violent. At the same time, they demonize Christianity as harmful to the American way of life. This perception is growing on the vast throng of uninformed independents and left leaning citizens in our country. This very perception threatens our freedoms.

It may seem like I'm over-blowing this issue. Perhaps I am. But it seems to me that as long as we head in the direction we are heading, the muslim extremists will win and the rest of us will lose our freedoms, if not our very lives.

Judge Rules Against Christian Convert

A 17-year-old girl who fled from her home, fearing her Muslim parents would kill her for converting to Christianity, must go back to Ohio, a Florida judge ruled Tuesday.

Judge Daniel Dawson ruled Ohio has jurisdiction over the case involving the teen, Rifqa Bary.

The teen is expected to be placed in foster care when she returns and will also be provided with psychiatric evaluations. Her parents will also receive psychiatric evaluations.

Rifqa can be back in Ohio as early as this week.

In an emotional interview with WFTV in Florida, Rifqa said she expects to be killed if she is forced to return to Ohio. "If I had stayed in Ohio, I wouldn't be alive," she said. "In 150 generations in my family, no one has known Jesus. I am the first. Imagine the honor in killing me."

A Florida investigation found no credible threats to Bary, and her farther, Mohamed Bary, said he has no intentions of harming his daughter.

This case is a tough one. The girl, who is nearly 18, is certainly old enough to decide her own fate. It's not like she was a 10-year-old child. Even though no "credible evidence" exists that she would be harmed, if her father or other relatives intended to kill her, I doubt any credible evidence of their plans would exist. What are they going to do, make a video saying "I'm going to kill Rifqa the next time I see her"? Of course not.

On the other hand, I know that people, especially teens can exaggerate.

Still, I don't think I would have sided with the parents on this one. She's old enough to make her own decision in this case.

Letter from one 'Angry Woman'.....

"Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001?

Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan , across the Potomac from our nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania ?

Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they?

And I'm supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was 'desecrated' when an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet?
Well, I don't. I don't care at all.

I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.

I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere possession of which is a crime in Saudi Arabia.

I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for chopping off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.

I'll care when the cowardly so-called 'insurgents' in Iraq come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques.

I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide.

I'll care when the American media stops pretending that their First Amendment liberties are somehow derived from international law instead of the United States Constitution's Bill of Rights.

In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave marine roughing up an Iraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don't care.

When I see a fuzzy photo of a pile of naked Iraqi prisoners who have been humiliated in what amounts to a college-hazing incident, rest assured: I don't care.

When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank: I don't care.

When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and fed 'special' food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being 'mishandled,' you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts: I don't care.

And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled 'Koran' and other times 'Quran.'
Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and-you guessed it - I don't care!!

Should you choose the latter, then please don't complain when more atrocities committed by radical Muslims happen here in our great Country!

Obama Honors Ramadan

Ramadan, as "everyone" knows, is the ninth month of the islamic calendar. It is a time to practice "patience and modesty, pray more and refrain from eating, drinking, smoking and sex from dawn until sunset" ... and to blow up the infidels at every opportunity.

Today, Obama, the son of a Muslim, issued a special Ramadan message to the muslim world. Here is Obama's Ramadan message, as provided by the White House:

On behalf of the American people - including Muslim communities in all 50 states - I want to extend best wishes to Muslims in America and around the world. Ramadan Kareem.

Ramadan is the month in which Muslims believe the Koran was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad, beginning with a simple word - iqra. It is therefore a time when Muslims reflect up on the wisdom and guidance that comes with faith, and the responsibility that human beings have to one another, and to God.

Like many people of different faiths who have known Ramadan through our communities and families, I know this to be a festive time - a time when families gather, friends host iftars, and meals are shared.

... These rituals remind us of the principles that we hold in common, and Islam's role in advancing justice, progress, tolerance, and the dignity of all human beings.

.... today I want to join with the 1.5 billion Muslims around the world - and your families and friends - in welcoming the beginning of Ramadan, and wishing you a blessed month. May God's peace be upon you."

It should be pointed out that while Obama goes out of his way to make a lengthy speech to Muslims about Ramadan, he ignored America's national day of prayer. Having said that, I don't think the president's mushy sentimentalism about the religion he practiced early in life is shared by the majority of American's he claims to speak for.

Since when has Islam had a role in advancing justice, progress, tolerance and the dignity of all human beings? These are empty words designed to flatter. But like many of Obama's words, they are not backed by truth or meaning.

Lockerbie Bomber Released

The man responsible for the 1988 Lockerbie bombing returned home to Libya on Thursday to cheering crowds, and throngs of people waving posters of the convicted killer, who flew to his native country to die after Scotland released him from prison on compassionate grounds. The goon had zero compassion for his victims.

Scotland's decision to free Abdel Baset al-Megrahi outraged some relatives of the 270 people killed when the jetliner blew up over a Scottish town.

Abdel Baset al-Megrahi, 57, spent roughly 11 days behind bars for each victim in the bombing. President Barack Obama said the decision to free the terminally ill bomber on compassionate grounds was a mistake and warned Libya not to give him a hero's welcome.

But thousands were on hand to greet him with a hero's welcome when his plane from Scotland touched down at a military airport in Tripoli. There was a festive atmosphere with some wearing t-shirts with al-Megrahi's picture. Others waved Libyan and Scottish flags while Libyan songs blared.

The White House declared it "deeply" regretted the Scottish decision as Abdel Baset al-Megrahi left prison and flew to Libya on an Airbus dispatched to Glasgow Airport. While the White House "deeply regretted" the decision, it put no pressure on Scotland to no release the jihadist, nor did it appeal the the U.N.

One of the Largest Muslim Nations in the World? I Don't Think So.

Isn't it funny that liberals have spent years falling all over themselves to protest when people call this a Christian nation, but now -- we now have the most liberal President in our nation's history declaring that we're a Muslim nation.

The reason this has been called a Christian nation is because it was originally populated by Christians seeking religious liberty, since it was founded by Christians, and since the population is still heavily Christian.

The reason we're now a Muslim country? Ehr...hard to say. We don't have an accurate count of how many Muslims we have in this country, but the number is generally thought to be under 3 million and many of them are from the Nation of Islam, which most real Muslims consider to be heretical.

Yet...

As President Obama prepared to leave Washington to fly to the Middle East, he conducted several television and radio interviews at the White House to frame the goals for a five-day trip, including the highly-anticipated speech Thursday at Cairo University in Egypt.

In an interview with Laura Haim on Canal Plus, a French television station, Mr. Obama noted that the United States also could be considered as "one of the largest Muslim countries in the world." He sought to downplay the expectations of the speech, but he said he hoped the address would raise awareness about Muslims.

God bless the Muslims who are here in this country, but just to be crystal clear, we're not "one of the largest Muslim countries in the world" nor are we ever going to be "one of the largest Muslim countries in the world."

We're also not one of the "largest Muslim countries in the world" even if you count the Muslims in the nation of Islam. Here's a list of the world's largest Muslim populations:

Indonesia: 204 million

Pakistan: 164 million

India: 154 million

Bangladesh: 128 million

Turkey: 76 million

Egypt: 74 million

Nigeria: 73 million

Iran: 65 million

Morocco: 34 million

Algeria: 33 million

Afghanistan: 32 million

Saudi Arabia: 28 million

Sudan: 28 million

China: 27 million

Iraq: 27 million

Ethiopia: 27 million

In other words, this is typical Obama. He says whatever he thinks his audience, which in this case is the "Muslim world," wants to hear with no regard to facts or logic.

Since he's giving a big speech in Egypt, America is "one of the largest Muslim countries in the world." If he thinks you're concerned about spending, he's the guy you need to cut spending. If you want lots of expensive, new government programs, he's the man for that, too. If you're anti-war, he's the guy to reverse Bush's policies! If you're not, he's the guy who'll be smart enough to quietly keep them in place.

He gets away with this because the mainstream media has his back. When he makes the sort of mistakes they'd harp on for weeks with a Republican, they either give it a brief, perfunctory mention while spinning for him as best they can or they just ignore it entirely. When he breaks his campaign promises, and he does that constantly, the media shrugs and moves on. When he makes huge gaffes, they yawn and pretend to be disinterested. Essentially, Obama's playing the role of an incompetent, batty Soviet premier while the media is playing the role of Pravda.

That's a big part of the reason why the MSM is going out of business ever more rapidly and why Obama has been such a historical disaster as President, because he's constantly being given free passes on these huge screw-ups.

America Is Now A Muslim Nation

It was only a few short weeks ago that Obama bowed and groveled before the Muslim world and declared that America is not a Christian nation. Now, he's taking this a step further. Contrary to what most Americans believe, Obama has now labeled the United States a Muslim nation.

I'll wait a minute while you go back and re-read that.

No, it's not a typo. In an interview on a French television station, Obama said that the United States was "one of the largest Muslim countries in the world."

Maybe we can live up to his words and implement sharia law. Let's start in San Francisco. We can start lopping off arms for theft, stoning women who have been raped and .... Allah knows WHAT we'll do with all the homosexuals out there, but I know it won't be pleasant. That sounds like the America I want.

B. Hussein Obama ran from his Muslim heritage during the 2008 campaign. In fact, anyone linking him in any way with that heritage was labelled a racist just one short year ago. Now, he seems to be relishing a role as the first Muslim president.

Obama: "...mutual respect..."

How's this for naivety:

President Barack Obama promised to improve U.S. ties with the Muslim world in his inauguration address on Tuesday, after tensions that followed the September 11 attacks and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

"To the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward, based on mutual interest and mutual respect" said Obama, who became the first black president of the United States.

As I understand the word "mutual," Mutual interest and mutual respect would require that the Muslim world has some of the same interests as the U.S. and that they respect us.

As I understand it, however, much of the world of Islam considers us "The Great Satan".  In fact, the very Muslims that The ONE was referencing in his speech are the ones who hate us the most.

Let me be clear:  That hatred is not based (primarily) on anything we've done.  It's not based on our relationship with Israel.  It's not based on the war on terror.  It's not based on what we've done in Iraq or Afghanistan.  

The hatred that the radical Islamic Fundamentalists have toward us, as well as much of the rest of the western world, is based on the fact that we are not Muslim. 

That's right.  All we have to do for them to "respect" us, is for all of us to convert to radical Islam.  Otherwise, we will continue to be "the Great Satan".  

Actually, I'm even wrong about that.  Muslims don't even respect other Muslims.  Prior to 9/11, 23 of the 24 world conflicts were between Muslims and their neighbors (the 24th was the Irish Republican Army and Great Britain.)  Of those, many have been between Muslims and other Muslims.  Muslims have no problem killing other Muslims if they have political issues with them, if they don't subscribe to the same brand of Islam, or if they are just having a bad day.

Jeff Emmanuel of redstate.com puts it this way:

Though the far left often claims that President Bush’s policy was unnecessarily heavy-handed and reckless, the reality is that “mutual interest and mutual respect” was exactly the basis for Bush’s policy with the post-Taliban government and people of Afghanistan, the post-Saddam government and people of Iraq, and with so many others the world over.

Further, Obama’s message “To those leaders around the globe who seek to sow conflict, or blame their society’s ills on the West - know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy. To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history; but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist,” hints at a view of international relations which is hopelessly Utopian, and which has no place the affairs of this world. All too many residents of the Muslim world are happy to judge their leaders on what they destroy, rather than on what they build (case in point: Hamas in the Gaza Strip, which has sacrificed infrastructure for the chance to convert water pipes into homemade rockets built to fire at civilian populations in the sovereign country to their north).

In short, recent history shows that the residence of the Muslim world buy into the hyperbole of their leaders.  Barack Obama is either hopelessly deluded, or he's lying to appease his constituency.

How Common Is the Ground?

Just over a year ago, hundreds of Muslim protestors in Sudan were shouting for the execution of a British school teacher. Her offense? Insulting Islam because her class of 7-year-olds named a teddy bear Muhammed. According to the New York Times report:

The protesters, some carrying swords, screamed, “Shame, shame on the U.K.!” and “Kill her, kill her by firing squad.” They were calling for the death of Gillian Gibbons, the teacher who was sentenced on Thursday to 15 days in jail. Under Sudanese law, she could have spent 6 months behind bars and received 40 lashes.

It’s events like this—and similar ones around the globe—that add to my skepticism about the value of a recent exchange pleading for peace between Muslim and Christian leaders.  In September of 2007, 138 of the world’s most prominent Muslim theologians, scholars and leaders sent an “open letter” addressed to Christians worldwide. The document titled, “A Common Word Between Us And You” is an extraordinary communication from the Muslim world. In it the Muslim leaders plead with Christians to recognize in two of the world’s great monotheistic religions their essential “common ground” namely, love to God and neighbor. Only by recognizing this common ground, the letter submits, will Muslims and Christians learn to live in peace. (Of course, by the very existence of this letter, these Muslim leaders are assuming Christians are not at peace with Islam.) 

Ecumenicists around the world have undoubtedly leapt for joy at the offering of this “olive branch” to Christianity from Islam. As expected, there were quick and positive responses from the Vatican, the Archbishop of Canterbury and several mainline American denominations.

In response to the “Common Word” document, Yale Divinity School drafted its own “open letter” to Muslims on behalf of Christians everywhere. (While most of the signatories of the Yale letter are a “who ’s who” of today’s theological left, there are a number of evangelicals on board.) The letter titled, “Loving God and Neighbor Together: A Christian Response to ‘A Common Word Between Us and You,’” heaps praise on the representative Muslim scholars for their efforts to bring about peace among Muslims and Christians. In addition, the letter agrees that the essential “common ground” between Islam and Christianity is love to God and neighbor. A closer analysis of both documents, however, should give Christians pause.

The Yale-drafted response begins by begging for forgiveness from the Muslim community for the evils of the Crusades and the “excesses of the war on terror.” Can someone explain why American Christians are responsible for the Crusades? And as far as the “excesses of the war on terror”—when did the Christian world get together and vote to kill a bunch of Muslims in the name of the war on terror? (It is naïve at best to think that a group of Christians “admitting” that the war on terror has been at all motivated by hatred toward Muslims will somehow help pacify the hard-liners within Islam.)

This blatant political statement is followed by paragraph after paragraph of ecumenical jargon about “our common ground,” “your courageous letter” and “our common good.” Most concerning, however, is the following theologically unsound statement:

It is therefore no exaggeration to say, as you have in “A Common Word Between Us and You,” that “the future of the world depends on peace between Muslims and Christians” … The future of the world depends on our ability as Christians and Muslims to live together in peace. If we fail to make every effort to make peace and come together in harmony you correctly remind us that “our eternal souls” are at stake as well.

The future of the world and our eternal souls depends not on interfaith dialogue, but on the sovereign plan of God (cf. Psalm 115:3, Isaiah 46:8-11; Ephesians 1:11). Our confidence is not in our ecumenical efforts, but in the finished work of Christ.

In addition, while the Muslim document is filled with quotations from the Qur’an proudly proclaiming that their god is the one, true god and indirectly attacking the deity of Jesus Christ, the Yale document uses almost no Scripture and omits a clear proclamation of the deity of Christ.

Finally, in the light of recent global events, it seems reasonable to question whether or not the heart of Islam really is love to god and neighbor in the same sense that Christianity teaches love to God and neighbor. True, the Muslim document does say that “Muslims, Christians and Jews should be free to each follow what God commanded them” and that justice and freedom of religion are a “crucial part” of love to neighbor. However, whether or not this sentiment is pervasive in the global Muslim community is vigorously debated today.

No true Christian desires conflict between Christians and Muslims. A Christian who follows the directives of the Bible will love Muslims and respect them—and seek to tell them about the saving love of God in Christ. They will not, however, compromise the truth of Scripture to start a dialogue, for to do so would not demonstrate love to God or love to our Muslim neighbors.

Islam's Problem

Islamic nations in the Middle East find themselves in continual conflict with their non-Muslim neighbors: Jewish Israel, Hindu India, and Christian Europe. These other countries do not find themselves involved with the same level of conflict with each other, but they are constantly at odds with Muslims - even to the point of military actions. Is this simply a coincidence?

No, it is not. Muslims today in the Middle East suffer from history - or more accurately, the memories of their own history. At one time, Muslim nations were the place to find some of the most advanced cultural and scientific developments in the entire world. Modern mathematics, geometry and engineering owes much to the Muslim culture of the 7th through the 10th Centuries, AD.  At one time, Muslim nations were also the place to find some of the most extensive religious tolerance which existed.

Today, however, matters stand quite differently. Muslim nations produce little, if any, scientific advances. They do not export cultural products like literature and music which appeal to the rest of the world in the same way that other nations do. They are also not a place to find a great deal of religious tolerance.

Understanding what changed, what went wrong, and why are keys to understanding why the current problems exist. Muslims in the Middle East experience their history as a current reality - the fact that something happened hundreds of years ago does not lessen its immediate impact and relevancy to them. Their religion teaches them that they are recipients of the final and most perfect revelation of God. Their history teaches them that they were once able to out-fight and out-produce everyone they encountered.

The fact that they are not now "on top" causes no end of discord and anger. The practical result in the modern era is jihad. This jihad is partially aimed inward, as people seek to "purify" their fellow believers' religious doctrines in the expectation that their problems are partially a result of having strayed from the "True Path" set down by God. This jihad is also aimed outward, a violent reaction against the perceived enemies of Islam who were responsible for colonialism and who are currently responsible for the cultural and political "attacks" on the Islamic way of life.

In short, while Islamic peoples were culturally and economically equal or superior to much of the rest of the world, they perceived things as being "in order".  They could be patient and wait for the rest of the world to convert to Islam, which they believe is an inevitability.  But now that Islam is perceived as a "backwards" religion, and Muslim nations are some of the poorest and culturally repressed nations in the world, leaders of the religion must, they believe, resort to whatever means necessary to put Islam back on top.  Usually "whatever means necessary" means violence.

The idea perpetuated by the liberal MainStreamMedia, and by even many conservatives in power, is that Islam is inherently a religion of peace.  It is not.  Islam is a religion that sees itself eventually wiping out all other religions, philosophies and belief systems.  Some adherents within the religion believe that can be done by peaceful conversions.  Other, many others, either do not agree, or are simply not patient enough to allow that to happen.

It is incumbent upon all of us to learn as much as we can about the people that threaten our way of life.  As much as our leaders would like to deny it, the Islamic terrorists have succeeded in destroying the world's economy over the past 8 years, with the help of the liberals in Congress and around the world, and even with the help of George W Bush at times.  (I have a great deal of respect for our current president, but I do think he made some mistakes which has cost us economically.) 

Radical Islam is not going to be defeated.  They can only be contained.  You can't permanently defeat an enemy that thinks he will be rewarded for dying for his cause, and who believes that God is on his side.  The war on terror is a war we'll be fighting for a very, very long time.
