White House Distances Itself From ACORN

Days after the Census Bureau announced it would cut ties with the organizing group ACORN, and barely 24 hours after the Senate voted to withdraw funding from the activist group, the White House expressed support for measures to hold the group accountable for "unacceptable" behavior.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs alluded to video posted on the site BigGovernment.com showing ACORN employees giving advice to individuals posing as sex traffickers.

"Obviously, the conduct you see on those tapes is completely unacceptable. I think everyone would agree to that. The administration takes accountability extremely seriously," Gibbs said.

A couple of nights ago Sean Hannity asked the couple who created the videos why they were only releasing one tape a day. They evaded the question a little bit. However, it's becoming clear that these people may be much more brilliant than anyone gives them credit for.

Sure, it takes a little creative thinking to come up with the idea to pose as sex traffickers as they did and create the tapes. But if these tapes had all been released at once, the response from the left would have been simply that this is "gotcha journalism" and it would have been left at that. By releasing the tapes as they have, and by Fox making this a headline story, the left, including the White House can neither dismiss nor ignore the tapes.

A few on the left were trying to make this out as a few isolated instances when the tapes first came out. They were also trying to make the case that a few "conservative right-wingers" were simply trying to tarnish Obama. As the tapes come out one by one, it becomes impossible to ignore them or excuse them. No matter how much they'd like to try, this has become a major scandal that the left cannot run away from. And every day it becomes bigger, uglier and nastier.

Every night before the President gets into bed, he kneels and gently reminds, God, oh, I mean Allah, that he is still waiting for the fire and brimstone which he had previously requested to be rained down on Fox News Headquarters. :)

Obama does not appear to be very loyal to old friends. Unions, watch out.

James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles
are heroes. Because of their efforts and guts, we taxpayers will save some money. (Money that would have gone to Acorn)
