Miss California on Gay Marriage

The gay community is up in arms ... again.  These poor girlie-men can't seem to catch a break.

During the Miss USA Pageant, Miss California expressed her opinion that marriage should be for a man and a woman. This opinion came in response to a direct question regarding the issue. That response could have cost her the pageant ... though, to be fair, she came in second place and was in second place before the gay marriage question.

Carrie Prejean, Miss California, was interviewed by Neil Cavuto and Sean Hannity last night and was polite, cordial and held no ill feelings over the situation.  She was never derogatory, nor did she "bash" gays or the gay community.  In fact, if you see a video of her answer, she was almost evasive. She praised America for being a place where freedom and choice are valued.

The gay community has been less that cordial. Gay activist Perez Hilton, who was a judge and who asked the question during the pageant, called her every name in the book, on his blog. He also went on national TV to say, in effect, that she has no right to her opinion.

Others on the left and in the gay community have had a similar response.  Choice and freedom are valued in the country, so long as the choices and the freedoms come from a liberal viewpoint. This says more about Hilton and the gay community than it does about Miss Prejean, who shares an opinion with President Obama and more than 50% of the American public.

I commend her for sticking to her principles via what is popular,or even politically correct in efforts to win.

To me,she is the real winner.

Carrie Prejean gave a fantastic response to a question that should never have been asked in the first place. She is a great role model for young ladies all over this country. Perez Hilton on the other hand, is a rabble rousing jerk and should NEVER be given a position as judge again. He exemplifies everything that is wrong with America!
